5th May! Guest instructors John Agapiou and Alice Sanders: Explore and Exploit
We have two very experienced instructors visiting us in Newcastle. John’s workshop will help us explore, to discover fun and unusual things by following your inspiration. Alice will look at how to exploit: how to make the most of a fun idea by playing ‘the game of the scene’. These are two workshops that can be taken separately or together. More information here.
Coming soon! Other Hearts: Improvising with masks and puppetry
This course will open the door to connection, flow and decision-free work – the things that make improv really fly – through exploring tabletop puppeteering and mask work. This is a four-week course. More information about the course here.

The Heartcore course: foundations of improvisation (currently ongoing)
This is our distinctive course introducing our style of improvisation, open to all and welcoming beginners. This is an eight-week course. More information about the course here.
This course was run in October-December 2017, January-March 2018, and is currently running for a third time as of April 2018.
Open World: techniques for explorative improvisation (not currently offered, future dates tba)
This course prepares you to chase improvisation into crazy and unexpected corners, following the funny and building whole worlds of imagination. It’s aimed at people who have completed the Heartcore course, but interested improvisers who have gained experience elsewhere can get in touch to see whether they may also be eligible to apply. Heart to Heart scenework course (not currently offered, future dates tba)
This is our follow-on to the Heartcore course, putting focus on what matters most in improvisation: the scene, and the relationship at the heart of it. This six-week course is aimed at people who have completed the Heartcore course, but interested improvisers who have gained experience elsewhere can get in touch to see whether they may also be eligible to apply.
